Just make it RWD. Won't be the best but saves forking out :)

You can buy drift ones, its down to the diff and tyres. RWD is impossible for drifting, it just spins everywhere. Needs to be 4wd believe it or not. I've got one, but it takes a fair bit of practice to get right, and the tyres aren't exactly full of life, but it's pretty sweet when it all comes together.

Ths is the one I have

I dunno about toys but in the real world RWD is where it's at lol

TBH it's been years since I have used any of my RC cars, but I remember the drive belt snapping on a Tamiya battery car and it was a laugh, when 4WD it was mostly just grip unless on a loose surface.

It's down to the tyres for drifting, It's like wrapping electrical tape around slicks. (which can also be done when the tyres get fooked)

usually people use 4wd chassis for drifting, having the rear diff locked and some polythene tires(nice and slippy)

easier to drift leccy cars, but it can be done with nitros too!

heya,

right, i now race nitro offroad, but used to drift,

if you want to drift, then you need to do the following,

open your rear diff case, pack some bluetack in there for perminent drifting, or some grease so it is hard to turn, but will still turn under pressure,

also, i believe the kyosho astra you have is a 1:10, go to your local hobby shop, or ebay, and buy a set of yokomo D tyres, or hpi do them too, both around same price, but YOKOMO is better,

then ur good to go, jus learn to use the brake, :)

have fun!

ou can get drift wheels of the bay and a new body shell sorted.keep it 4x4 or it will just go around in circles.

4x4 dont drift ive got thunder tiger scooby one rear diff broke so i swopped the diffs over and made it rwd drifts ok bit hard to get sideways and keep it there but i am running standard tyres

thats why once you have drift wheels on a 4x4 car it is so easy to drift them.
This is my drifter and been doing it for a few years now.

i'm sure i saw a promo vid a while ago for an electric rear driver, but you could move the motor about to change wheather it was a drifter (front of car) or racer (rear of car). anybody know what i'm on about?

and i play with a hot bodies lighntening 2 nitro buggy. good fun on the rough stuff!

as said, RWD is gash for drifting with an R/C car..... doing donuts ISNT drifting lol.

its all about weight distribution and tyres.
As much weight up front and naff all grip tyres up the back, jobs a carrot

I might have to dust off my HPI RS4Rally for a bit of drift action.

if 4wd then there should usually be two belts one goes to the rear and one goes to the front then you can take the belt off otherwise i aint sure what your chassis looks like so im not sure what you can do with it, i have Schumacher Fusion that goes 80mph+ aint played with it in years but was sure fun that thing
