how easy is it to run new brake lines throughout the car?
The reason i'm planning on doing this is while attempting to change the lines to braided ones i cant get the original rubber ones off due to them corroding to the copper lines.
how much new line would i need?

cheers

Liam

If you're simply replacing the pipes you'll need a full 25ft roll of 3/16 pipe, maybe more, been a long time since I did any.

To do the two rear lines you'll need two 25ft rolls and you'll have a bit left over on each. You'll need a third roll to do the fronts as well.

I bought mine from here: http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Clarik-Engineering-Supplies Top service and pretty cheap to. Don't buy copper buy the copper-nickel mix (Kunifer) it doesn't work harden and go brittle like copper.

I did the rear lines on mine before xmas - its a crap job to get the old lines off. Very messy if you've got underseal on there and you may have to get ,errrrm, medieval lol on the old unions to get them out of the rear cylinders. Running the new lines is quite easy, making good flares needs a bit of practice.

Sound advice by Phazer there.
I replaced every line on my car. Ended up using about 4 25ft rolls of pipe after f**king up several cuts/flares lol lol

If your replacing all the lines you can buy car specific sets. See here (http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/products/ProductDetail.asp?cls=ROAD&pcode=S/CGB5032)

I've just done the complete front end on mine using this stuff http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/index.php?manufacturers_id=25&osCsid=j401bf89cht4tkb64gqrefkji6

Easy to make up the lines. Took me under an hour. I think I made a post about running internal lines to the rear as well at some point.

Yes Dar you did, think you even listed all the bits required too.

Ok, so we've assesed we need a sheetload of pipework, BUT how many unions are needed? And of what variety?

If you replace every line, for standard fittings/lines etc you need 12 unions iirc.
Cant remember sizes off my head, but i THINK 2 are m12, and the rest are m10

Cool.

Just need a Corsa servo & MC now then.

As Adam says there are two M12x1 on the master cylinder (passenger side rear and one of the fronts) to make sure you don't put the lines on wrong due to the split circuit. The rest are M10x1.

EDIT: Just seen you want to use a Corsa master cylinder - the unions may well be different. EPC isn't very clear but there are more M12 than the Nova.
