View Full Version : choices for a new Car..
Okies Before lee moans about the french cars, they are well powered light and handle well from the factory.
Stepping away from the french scene pmsl suggest some 2.0l cars which are light, quick and handle well. From FACTORY i cant be arsed building anything.
No arguments please homo's Just a car and a little bit why its so good, I have 1500 - 2000Ish unless
Fire away Oh and i drive mine hard ;) so it has to be able to take a battering pmsl.

Its not a 2.0 but how about something like this (http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-uk/www/cars/BMW+3+SERIES/Ne-2-4-5-6-7-8-27-44-49-53-61-64-67-103-133-146-236,N-9-13-112-240-4294967201-4294967202/advert.action?R=200809304508040&distance=73&postcode=LL13+8BE&channel=CARS&make=BMW&model=3+SERIES&min_pr=1000&max_pr=2000&max_mileage=&vehicleYearOfManufacture=1997&vehicleRegLetter=P)? I was looking for 2L E30's but that looks like a nice car for the cash.

Lancia Deta intergrale ftw, they just remind me of bigger nova's. Iv'e seen them go for nothing at all.

I've seen them go for £2500, but they range quite rapidly from that, auction is the best place tho.
Cav Turbo gets my vote.

i might start looking around then. awesome cars! always worried about spare parts though :(
Cav Turbo gets my vote.
And another vote here, or even a cav GSi as they cope pretty well with a track and obviously its an XE so its gonna take a kicking better than anything french and garlicy lol

Touche', i was offered one for £1800 as its owner was moving abroad 3 days from when he offered it me.
Right car, wrong time though :(

You'll get an Evo 3 for £3k Rexton.

Mine took the abuse - fair play it was the baby 1.6 16v turbo (hf). One of the wheels fell off after my tyres were changed whislt I was going round a rounderbout and I just popped it back on and it still drove perfectly. I even drove it around for a couple of months after a motorbike plowed into the side of it at 40+mph. The chassis was bent but its still took the abuse.
The baby ones mechanically will take whatever you throw at them, where as the big block 8v & HF's won't.
Seat Leon Cupra's and Cupra R's can be picked up for £2.5 - £4k. Like a Golf GTI mk4, but more power, better handling and better looks. The 'R was tested on Seat's track in Spain for months on end, and when used in the Cupra Cup, that followed the touring cars, they were suprisingly standard! No coilovers, just stripped and caged, few tweeks here and there - immpressive stuff.
Have I sold you one yet? (If you hadn't guessed, I just purchased one)
The ibiza cupra is a fair shout to...
anybody any gen on a dc2 teg type r?
^^ stooo is your man for them lol

only problem is insurance group is so high, but yeh always look like bigger nova's
what about an FTO?
What you mean a F**king Totally Overrated lol
Theres loads of them round here and tbh a two litre doesnt warrant being a V6 imo, plus the fact that my mates almera 1.6SRi dusts them all day long makes them look even pooer haha!
Try and find a good un-rotten one!
Very true, there are good cars though.
A LET converted mk3 GSi would be a perfect all rounder imo, could be driven daily, but still plenty of poke if you want to 1/4mile & track it.....
Clios going up for sale as spares or repairs shortly this week hopefully. If i can sell the engine loom and ecu i will break it if not i'll try and sell it as a whole.
Bye bye willy.....
Or should that be limp dick lol
Limp Dick indeed, soft ****ing cunty thing.... Couldnt even take a battering meh. Pussy.

They'l be autos.. the Man's are pretty damn fast:thumb:
I wouldn't be at all surprised if the auto was just as fast, if not faster than the manual (reason being the ECU knows exactly when to change gear) - auto Supras are spec'd as faster than manual ones.
They're still not as fast ast they should be though, 7.5 0-60 is pretty lame and thats the 197bhp MIVEC jobbies.
