Looks proper fooked, the accident has pushed the wheel back into the arch! Wouldnt be surprised if it needs to go on a jig!

ring trading standards in the morning, & if that doesn't work, there is BBC's watchdog show, or the tabloid newspapers, and remember to use the local paper too... bad publicity ruins businesses

Yep deffo go and see citizens advice. We had a similar thing happen in a dealer where i used to work, young lad binned a vx220 on road test, they paid him full market value for it!

I would defo seek out legal advice asap and then approach the garage for a 100% refund. As said the car needed so much work, and now, well it wont ever be the same anyway and i personally would probably be in a padded cell by now if it were mine just so i didnt kill anyone

You need to name and shame the dealers imo, they'd be surprised how much trade would be lost with this posted on all vauxhall based forums.

I think thats jumping the gun a bit, if they give him his refund without hassle then I dont see the need. If they drag their heels though then it might speed things along.

I disagree. I've not seen the pics (no pb at work) but if the car has been smacked whilst out on a test run, it shows the garage clearly don't care about their customer's property, and if the car needs jigging as some people have commented then they must have been giving it some beans.

Did you speak to citizens advice?

John
19-01-09, 07:56 PM
It's your car, you have the right to have it inspected by a qualified, and most of all, an independant assessor, before any work is carried out.

John
19-01-09, 08:05 PM
Hmm, i have to admit, i'm not too sure either if you need to contact them or not?
At the end of the day it's legally your car, They can't go ahead and repair it without your say so. How bad is the damage kev? It looks fooked in the photos, especially with all that wheel damage.

kevster
19-01-09, 08:11 PM
i spoke to the service manager on th 14/01/2008 and he said it was 5500 k .
worth of damage .

kevster
19-01-09, 08:12 PM
i would say door, wing, seal, wheel, arm. from what i could see .

Jack
19-01-09, 08:27 PM
Just seen the pics. An "overnight" test run? :wtf:

I would demand to know a contact number for their insurance company, and ring them to ask if their company insurance covers them for such a thing.

My mate had never ending problems with his Renault Clio 172, he brought that from a dealer and to start with they said all they had to do was fix it and give it him back but then he said he was getting the citizens advice involved so they offered him a full refund or for him to have another car.

Just keep playing your face, there in the wrong not you!

Ash
19-01-09, 09:00 PM
I'd be wanting a full refund or a new car! Same if it was a TV or any other goods, I don't see why a car is any differant. Stamp your feet and don't leave the dealership till you get want you want! Warn potential customers away and have the local paper number on your phone just in case ;)

i spoke to the service manager on th 14/01/2008 and he said it was 5500 k .

They've bent the sub frame then, hence the high cost :tard:

Keep on their case. To be honest if you'd taken advice earlier you would probably have suceeded in rejecting the car and having a refund due to all of the problems you've had mechanically.

Take advice from CAB as the others have said. If necessary see a solicitor, the £50 will be worthwhile in the end. Keep records of all conversations, put everything in writing asap - that you expect a refund (and state the reasons why and the damage making the car effectively worthless). Make sure you deny them the right to repair the car until this matter is resolved.

Good luck!

nathan.
19-01-09, 09:30 PM
Jeez, thats pretty bad.

Theres no way i would accept the car back.

As said already, contact citizens advise ASAP, contact your insurance company (even though you wasn't driving, in theory they're there to help you)

You need to get intouch with these people ASAP though before its too late!

Shocking news and worrying how many "Accidents" happen to cars when they go to dealers.

Dont even think about taking the keys for that back unless you get a full refund

Ahh...That makes more sence, look like it was hit side on by a lorry or a big vhicale, they must be tyre markes all up the side, my sissters bolke had this happen to his 911, lorry didnt see him in the mirro and cut into the roundabout and crushed it into the island.

Feel gutted for you mate ! the last thing you think will happen when leaving your car at a dealership hey ! you said you had had problems with paint runs in the door shut, so have they already repaired this damage ? or was that something else ? personally i'm not bothered about driving a crash damaged car and buy salvage cars myself, however in this case i would demand either a new car or a 100% refund ! it's simply not enough that theyre going to repair it ! best of luck with resolving this issue, go all out on it !!
