and to top it all of, its smoking and squeeling like a pig,

i think i got a load of duff stuff yet again grrrrrrr

Baxter, sorry to hear the g/box seal is leaking, it was fine when i removed it from a car that had been stood for some time. Are you sure you've not caught it putting the shaft in?
Anyhow, if you get a new shaft seal, i'll send you the money for it, can't say fairer than that.:thumb:

i think the smoke will be from the bores its been sitting with some oil in there to stop it going rusty,

but the squealing has only started since i filled the gearbox up with oil :wtf:

still no gears tho, as you know adam gears engage fine,

If it wasnt fully home it would explain the lack of drive/gears, and the box oil leak....

andys (hendrix's) nova was the same, his shaft was slightly out i'd check then double check that before anything mate

make sure you have the circlips on the ends of the inner cv's too, my mate had the same problem due to one pissy little circlip on the offside shaft....

i'll second that, mine sat for nearly 2 years, in a rough a**e barn, and still proved itself at the RR day even with a naff hall sensor:D

My suggestion of possibly cam pulley loose or belt moved over/rubbing on the inside of the cam cover still stands, its just another idea to check bud:thumb:

the squeal is like fan belt squeal,

you know that sound you rev the engine put some more charge on it, and it stops noise

it might be that lol

seeing as the entire cars running of the battery as i dont have an alt at the mo lol
