right then fella's ive picked up my 2.5 v6 engine today. its come out of a mk2 astra cabby, i think its a c25xe but dunno how to tell, if it is a c25xe then will 3.0 cams fit in it or am i just better off just aving sum aftermarket one???
thanks mike.
Hi mike, if it is a c25xe then from what i remember 3.0 ones do fit, you'll know the engine code by looking on the block
Yes they will if yours is an 25XE. May aswell chuck in a ligthened fly whilst your under the bonnet.

well its got a valver one on anyway and ive also got a billet steel one with a paddle clutch but think that may be too light lol its getting the paddle clutch fitted :) gud gud :) cheers
the 2.5v6 vectra gsi use 3.0v6 cams as standard
will give you a good power gain too

cool think i sorted some now :) just wanted to make sure before buyin them cheers guys
in regards to the flywheel there no such thing as to light with these big engines. the cams are a well known cheap upgrade. im sure there used to be a guide somewhere, possibly migweb??

not sure what cames he used theni it was just the sandered 4 cams out the 3ltr.
g cams are what are in the gsi's and they come from a omega 3ltr.
I know as helped out with the engine change on mine as it had a rod through the block when i got it.

Try none. The GM V6 is a crappy interference engine

I wouldnt V6 a nova unless it was in for doing some 1/4mile runs. I had a V6 cav auto and i put the cams in and the difference was huge to it. And such an easy thing to do.. well was to me, being a mechanic and all lol

no learn from your mistakes and build it better next time :)

Yeas, sloth fails at realising this is a thread about the V6 lol
I have a feeling the cams may be different in the B308i but then surely that would require a different ECU and I believe it uses the same one as an X30XE
