would like to see some(5 max)of your all time favourite nova's, also people interest and opinions(keep it clean!)i may not be as up to date as some of you guys on here,im sure the few pics i post may not be the same owner engine etc nowaday's so correct me if im wrong, as i say its just out of interest,
so here goes,

1,
http://www.pngclub.com/images/car_images/1774big.jpgthis tops my list, because if theres one nova id have most it would be a black gte the wheels suit(but id rather a set of comp mo's on there),and it "did" have a group A 1600 in there,(im now told its has been replaced by a LET!
2,
http://www.pngclub.com/images/car_images/86big.jpganother black motor(i like black cant you tell Lol)it stands so sweet dont it,awsome!
3
http://www.pngclub.com/images/car_images/2224big.jpgdarren pursey's(Dars) track car, having watched the vids/pics readups of his trackdaying/build etc,you gotta gave the man credit for the "beast" it is.
4,
http://www.pngclub.com/images/car_images/1625big.jpgwhat i like about this car is the simplicity that "bring the car"out of it shell, a nice base,my fave wheels(comp mo's):D and a lowering kit, job done, sweet it is.
5,
http://www.pngclub.com/images/car_images/3502big.jpgyou just would wouldnt you:D

please let me say there are 10/20 other cars i could put up,but just to give everyone a chance the limit will be 5 as said.
go for it:)

My favorite are:- 1. B130WFR - Cossie blue - fell into the wrong hands and got broken. 2. Black one of Mark (novacabrio) beautiful, even nicer with his own touches. 3. Carl Rowntree's, enough said, first smoothed bay I'd seen, best mk1 of all time. 4. Keith's blue one, never tire of looking at the pictures of it, absolutely stunning. 5. Royston's white Sr had to have a look everythime I walked past it at PV08

Some great pics in this thread!

For me its...

Martin kelsons.

I was parked next to it in my blue one at PV 2005. Fell in love with it then, and haven't stopped since.

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a220/NOVAMARTIN16V/DSC02741.jpg

Dar's track car. The source of all my inspiration, and with a bit more money, I might have built a car that almost matched it. The talent behind the wheel adds to the overall package as well. I still believe there isn't a track nova to match it.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v485/DPursey/Trackday%20Photos/CCombe%20190408/Nova1_800x533.jpg

Dave Marshalls GTe. Never got the recognition it deserved IMO, and should be remembered as one of the greats.

Jesus ^ I remember that boot handle :)

Hard for me to choose,Past and present I really liked the yellow mk2 one on ph2 Renault 16v wheels, also the yellow one on the 17" grey Masitalys with the weird bonnet scoop, possibly was a Q plater.
Bretts, K95 VHD, Nick J's, A16 VTB, Karl Rowntreess, Benns, Keith Robinsons NDZ and present, Symons (sp) Porsche peppermint blue Irmscher fronted mk1,

ahh theres loads :)

andybishop
18-01-09, 05:21 PM
L14MNP, I'm pretty sure the Yellow MK2 with Renault wheels and the Q plater on 17's was the same car. Unless your on about the one with the scoop and 17's being Phil Lofthouse's.

As for my favorites, A16VTB, K95VHD back when Garry had it with the Throttle bodied engine and trick bits, Karl Rowntree's (Well I would pick this as I've done quite a bit of work on it), Ian Holmes's GTE, Both of Keiths. There is more that I can't think of at the moment.

The main one for me would be Andy Bishops Black GSI Turbo. Back before I ventured to shows, the pictures of it running super low on speedlines with the LET inspired me. And when things got rough with my last car, Andy was the fella who made sure I took the right choice to built a LET nova.

http://photos-c.ll.facebook.com/photos-ll-sf2p/v126/126/2/513342059/n513342059_384130_9492.jpg

Next it's got to be the legendary A 16V TB:

http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d97/clubmatt/Trax2007201-1.jpg

Aways been a fan of Martin Kelsons, again, an inspirational car due to the quality of the build:

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a220/NOVAMARTIN16V/DSC02741.jpg

John Haslams, love the wheels and the sheer old skool coolness.

http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n16/scgsi16v/Scan10035.jpg

Karl Rowntree's, again one of the highest quality builds!

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a220/NOVAMARTIN16V/335.jpg

There's loads more, I really like pretty much every old skool members car.

Ok for me it has to be:

Keith Robinson's GTE Rep
Sean O'Donnell's Saloon
Lynz's China Blue Nova
Austin's AWESOME flip front, RWD'd XE
Austin's AWESOME Euro Saloon.

The Counts Saloon is ace as well, but I just cant get into the whole Brown scene at the minute.

Too many nice ones have graced the pages in recent years for me!! A few stand out ones are Martin Kelsons, Karl Rowntrees, Decs (both of them!) Keith Robinsons, Andy Bishops (remember following the rebuild on his site) cant remember the owner but the mint green stunner that was in TV.

Just to name but a few, there are many that IMO are great cars.

Cheers fella, Ive never seen that particular pic of mine from that angle before, Its really nice to hear a few people consider my car to be up there with some stunning examples that have been around for years. I always see it as being so far away from them! Each year Im trying to do a little more to catch up to the ones that have always been an ispiration to me. However I think Ive a way to go yet! Thanks guys. :)

Hard for me to say really. Theres so many out there just now! And i havent really been on the scene that long, only really got into them last year when i started to build mine. So not really clued up on the older ones all you grey haired boys go on about. So mines are more upto date ones. But off the top of my head in no particular order.

1) Benns nova - Love how clean it always is, super shiney.
2) Decs sport - Nuff said
3) Keiths LET - As above
4) Nick J - Love all the trick carbon bits, and how flawless everything its.
5) The simps old turbo - Its what originally inspired me to build my nova into something. Was so simple looking, yet really struck you everytimg you seen it.

Dec16v

Tricky one this, I'd have to go for:

1) A16VTB - for being way ahead of its time (I still want to buy and restore it one day ;)
2) Brett Warburtons Breeze Blue SRi - I can still remember seeing it this at my first big show, Trax 99 I think!? Big Big inspiration
3) Graham DeSueys Pepe, for being bonkers
4) Nick J's valver, for being everything that my old red one should have been
5) Keiths turbo, this guy deserves to be in the Top5 for going to the ends of the earth for his project

1)Lee Haslam's GSi Turbo, got me into Nova's properly!
2)Nick J's
3)Benn's amazing how smooth and clean the thing is!
4)Rick Drapers old one

5) I know its cheeky, but my Nova is pretty much everything I want in a Nova so its in my top five, and in fact #1 for me!

Dec

Saw this at Trax 2007 and it was very very clean. I think it's had a good rebuild not that long ago. No one seems to know the current owner but he mentioned that he's had it for years now.

Think he's a member of the Vauxhall sports car club.

I think thats the problem. Over the years there have been so many standout Novas, to pick 5 is very hard IMO.

Jim
21-01-09, 10:13 AM
My favourites will probably appear biased, but meh...

In no particular order:

CP's 1.4 16v. Probably one of the most impressive track orientated small block Novas out there. I was fortunate enough to witness this not only be faster, but obliterate much more powerful machines on numerous occasions.

MC's old 1.4 on carbs. This car inspired me to go down the small block carb route.

Breeny's 2.0 Turbo on polished compomotive th's. The styling was spot on IMO and had the engine to give it that extra wow factor.

Decs sport. Truely outstanding attention to detail and commitment.

Mine. I wouldn't build something that I didn't like, and when it was on the road I enjoyed driving it and was very pleased with the how it turned out from both a styling and performance point of view, so it has to be in my list otherwise how can I justify spending all that time and money on it, lol.

There are many other cars out there that I like a lot and deserve credit (many of which have been mentioned) but as has been said, picking a top 5 is very tricky and I'll probably come up with another 5 in a few minutes time, lol.
