will a dodgy airflow meter cause my car to run rough an sound like its firing on 3 when revved it sounds ok on tickover

possibly yes. if the airfilter has recently been changed a leaf or similar on the gauze in front of airflow meter will also do that. but sounds very much like faulty spark plugs possibly large gap in them or faulty plug leads

engine was running spot on before the swap in the gte i took it out of and the plugs havent been touched and it has brand new leads

the AFM can cause this as i just had this problem on the LET changed the AFM and it ran good (untill the ICV went)!!

ill get an new afm see if it cures it

unplug the AFM, if it runs better then the AFM's fooked.
