earth lead

earth lead from the back of head on 2.0 16v. Where does this go is it the altenator/starter/chasis. I have the one from the gearbox on the chasis. Thanks in advance

You need to earth the alternator adjuster arm (assuming this is in metallic contact with the alt body). Putting it to the negative terminal is advisable IMO as on a Nova the battery is close by.

I've had issues with this on an Astra GTE 16v & the engine problems caused by poor earthing of the alternator was crazy. Chuffed when I fixed it though.
