I've been on the look out for one of these since most people told me to steer clear of the F18 I was previously going to use on my XE conversion which is soon to start. I have found one in a local scrap yard but the car is a 90 H and the clocks say 214660 which leads me to my next question is there a 'ball park' figure that these 'boxes are good for is it all down to wear, maintinence and abuse of them. Also he (scrap yard owner) has said he wants fifty quid for it and obviously I'll have the pleasure of taking it out, how fair/normal is this for one of these? Sorry if this is in the wrong section and i know its worth what I am willing to pay before someone states that. Thanks for reading and any help is much appreciated.

You should be able to pick 1 up with a lot less miles on and already out the car for around the same money fella;)
put a wanted post up on here and on www.migweb.co.uk

Thats what I thought and was thinking about a wanted ad on here but not to sure about mig as I've always found it a bit 'abuse happy' to say the least, thats just my opinion, not to offend some of the mig regulars on here

No real mileage issues tbh, gm gearboxes are quite bomb proof in general.
I got my f16cr box for nothing.....

I wouldn't mind one FOC also but can't see it happening

I wouldn't go over the odds looking specifically for a f16 either.
Just look for a cheap f20 and chuck it on
