rite now im banned ive dropped my gbox to fit my quaffe LSD but ive decided to try and build what i think is a balanced reliable c20xe.
the gear box-f20
QUAFFE ATB LSD
GROUP N CLUTCH- will this be to harsh for mild town driving? and what makes are recommended? must cope with 200+bhp
SBD LIGHTENED AND BALANCED FLY WHEEL

engine-c20xe

SBD TP207 THROTTLE BODIE KIT AND MBE MANAGEMENT
SBD HIGH TENSILE CON ROD BOLTS-for 8000rpm limit.
TITANIUM VALVE CAPS- to be safe!
POLISHED/PORTED HEAD- nothing mad as i need to use std valves. what companys are recommended and roughly how much?

so would the above set up and products give me a realy good 'drivable' nova? im not into having hooj bhp hopefuly around 210@fly, i just want it for me i know it isnt the best etc but it should come in my price range and id like to think it would go ok up pod nxt year

Being a 1400 man I'm not really the 1 to ask about whats best for 2.0l BUT from what I've heard ( on MIG- prob a better place to check up your ideas on) and seen (a 1.6 16v fitted with a SBD/ MBE kit done by the owner by himself) I would say that you are about spot on for a good reliable set-up. I'm not sure about the clutch - i got advice from Harry Hockley for mine. You can mix and match the outers and plates. I've got a Gp A outer (stronger spring rate) and a Gp N organic plate which is fine for me. I wouldn't advise going for a paddle clutch - I've heard they really are a pain for ordinary driving.

The only thing you haven't mentioned is the suspension and braking. TBH I think these elements are at least if not more important than the power from the engine. I would recommend at the very least fitting the rose jointed adjustable tie bar kit.

thanks cp its the clutch thats causing me hassle ive been recommended a HELIX auto sport one i know a paddle clutch would be a bit ott, maybe just a regular organic friction plate from helix if its grp N stuff should be ok i just wanted a reliable one which would feel nice and snappy?.

as for the brakes it is currently running full 16v set up inc master cylinder servo etc and braided brake lines but im upgrading to v6 front would like brembos or sum thing but a bit costly!

the bay is seam welded with strengthining kit and TAS tca plates etc but rose joints? are these worth the money? i was also thinking of some concentric top mounts?

I think you'll be fine with a gp N organic plate.

I would say that if you want a complete package which by the sounds of it you are already a long way towards then getting some rose jointed tie bars would be well worth it.

Lee May off MIG ( got a nice 2.0l valver Nova himself) rode round with me at Goodwood and his main comment was about how well it put the power down out of corners compared to his. The diff helps a lot but sorting the suspension with lowered rose jointed tie bars etc helps no end as well.
