Should the inner CV joint move freely when held at an angle and wiggled around in a circle?
I currently have my driveshafts out and whereas the outer ones move around freely by hand (although they're getting replaced anyway due to a clunk when accelerating which I suspect is them) the inner ones tend to get stuck and jam in the same position. This occurs whether I push the shaft all the way in to the joint or pull it out so it's fully extended - it's just not a smooth motion.

Does this behaviour sound like dodgy joints? Or is it normal? Reason I ask is because both my inner joints feel the same and it appears it's not a common thing to break - places seem to mainly sell outer CVs, and one motor factors told me on the phone they never break on them.

they should move freely. i may say that the clunk is the inners.

Just removed the shafts from my spare Nova, and they both feel the same - not free moving and get stuck in position when moving it in a circular way. So that's 4 of mine that feel wrong?!

CV=constant volocity? it is designed to be free moving in all positions.
wouldnt be to good if it decided to lock as the suspension moved up and down.
