View Full Version : re-seating valvs
This has probly been done before but im a bit slow lol.
im fed up of doin this choir, so had an idea which made it alot more fun and took the job time from about 1,1/2 hours to 20mins lol.
i hate doing it by hand so i cut the small end off the the plunger thingy and shuved it in a drill. just ended up using a bit more grinding paste than normal but o well.....

Because when rebuilding an engine you want to rush it dont you.
how about goin over them once more with fine paste, using a drill with reverse.
BOTH directions..... eg like when you do it by hand
No offence, but if you can't be bothered to do it properly, what other aspects of the engine build have you rushed?
And grease or no grease, if the drill was going at high speed, you may have damaged the valve guides too.
I'm sure you're enjoying yourself though, which is the whole point I suppose lol
Agreed, valves arent used to spinning at xthousand rpm, because if that drill hasnt got reverse ill bet my last quid it wont have a variable speed trigger lol
There is a reason why even at specialist head/blockwork places, reseat them to this very day by hand.
