I'm in the market for a new monitor, and I've narrowed it down to three, all LG models (yes, I hart LG kit lol)

I want 22", built in freeview, decent resolution, widescreen, a wide viewing angle, SCART, and a quick response time. DVI would be nice as my gfx card does have a DVI output. Do not need built in dvd or any of that gubbins. Doesn't need to be wall mountable.

LG M228WDP (http://www.ebuyer.com/product/139180), £199.99
No DVI, 5ms response, 1680x1050 - so not true 1080 HD screen, 176°/170° view.

LG M2294D (http://www.ebuyer.com/product/149990), £214.99
Has DVI, 5ms response, 1680x1050 again, 170°/170° view . Highest contrast of the three

LG M2394D (http://www.ebuyer.com/product/153223), £257.16
DVI, a little bigger at 23", 5ms response, 1920x1080 (so proper bo 1080 HD), smaller view angle 160°/170° and not sure if it has freeview...

Worth paying the extra for the 23" one, or stick with the middle ground...

The 23" does have freview, for the sake of £40 I'd get the 1080p support, just incase ;).

look long and hard at your bank balance, then buy the biggest one cos deep down, thats the one you want anyway..

Go to www.pricerunner.co.uk and see what you can pick up there, I got a 42" samsung, built in freeview, 1080p, for less than £500, and they delivered it to my door the next day.

I have an 20" LG monitor (circa £130 allthough i got it for less) but im unimpressed comared to the quality of my HP 20" monitor (circa £200) that I use at work. (ok theres a price difference) but Id check them out in a store if you can to see what looks better in real life, ignore figures and rates.

Its also worth noting that if its chief use is as a montior (ie realatively close use) the res for 22"s is the same or 20" so its no different to digital zoom on a PC or just moving nearer to the monitor!

I've got a Samsung 19" looooookeeeedeee in the bedroom and that ocasionally gets used for setting up the server. Does a good job of that although some of the edges get trimmed off a little.

imho a 22" for PC use would be fine, unless its 4M away then maybe consider a 32" lol

im running a 32" for my pc screen, but will be swapping later on for two smaller ones probs about 19" dual screens and the 32" will be a tv. the 32" was under 250 quid i cant fault it yet and have had it maybe a year or so. the only down side is there is no HDMI port and i dont think it has freeview.

I was looking at 26", but the resolutions were the same and its too big for the space I'm going to be putting it in.

I might go round to Comet and see whats on display, but our local stores are usually pretty poop at having stuff on the shelves. It will probably be used as a TV/Monitor about 50/50, and when in TV mode it will be about 6 foot from me.

Fail of the month lol

The biggest most expensive one on your list! Plus it has a proper resolution.
