Wiper Problem

Car is a 1984 nova 1000 merit

Problem is wipers wont turn off unless the ignition is turned off.
Even the intermitant wiper is constant.

Can anyone shed any light on this or has anyone suffered a simillar problem?

possibly a bad earth the usuall nova problem

I thought about a bad earth - but where the do I start looking ?
This has only happened since the bad freeze - parked up over xmas and not used until now.

take off the cowlig under the steeribg wheel and have a poke about.

Is there a home / park switch on the motor mechanism. You can imagine if the wipers don't sense the down position they will carry on running until they do. So if the switch is broke............

Changed the motor and stalk - still the same :confused::(:eek:

It was the relay.
