im thinking about changing the inejction system on my nova to carb from a 1.4 SR. i know that i will need the inlet and carb from the 1.4 and a fuel pressure regulator. anything else i should know about, or any tips? thanks

oh - one reason is that i was told that carb is noticeably quicker?

problem is come mot time,

your car has a cat, and it needs one by law, fit a carb, its going to **** the cat,

And a lot of the ignition is diff on carbs, or doesnt that really matter?

the cat.
and i had a e16se in my nova that had a carb fitted a fook me did that fly
and all you will need is to cut away the injection wiring out of you loom and the rest will be the same on your loom just about

im assured that my nova will get through an mot with no cat. and i will probably do it, i like the reliability of an injection but carbs are just more powerful

which conclusion? carbs ARE more powerful, injection is more reliable. or the bit about MOT?

what year is your car?
its a 92. but my mate says that it will definately get past the mot with no cat, hes sure of it because hes de catted 93's and still got past an mot

any legit mot station will not pass a car post ....92 (cant remember the exact date) with no cat.

well, going back to my original question, is that all i would need then? 14 inlet and carb, and regulator?

err nope, cams different, as its lift is designed for carb and dizzy, and the cutout is different from the 1.2 spi one, and the housing has the fuel pump hole aswell. your spi loom is all in one including the in car loom, which is a ball ache to cut out and sort. so carbs are more powerfull? why are all modern tuners and mappers using bodies? because power comes with control, ecu and bodies (injection) = more control than a set of carbs. that means more power. sorry hunny. ;)
