the crappy little 2 speaker Phillips radio/cassette in my mk2 1.2i Fun has to come out. Since its only got front speakers - in the dash - i wanna replace those first...
Should I disconnect the dash speakers and put some in the door? And how, what size, do i have to use a door build?
or
Replace the dash speakers with better ones? If there are any that'll fit!
cheers!

ive put 5 and 1/4 inch in my door and just disconnected the front speakers. I wouldnt get any larger than this if fitting the door, and if u dont have electric windows i think its even harder to fit in the door. I had to carve my door open where the winder would be if i didnt have elecy windows. u can buy door pods things but they are totally overpriced.
I squeezed 6x9s in my doors. at the end by the seat.
Had to cut some wood as a pod for the speaker to sit in. Then fibre glassed it alll over and sprayed it with vinyl spray, looks original, new and sounds great!
Loadsa work invloved though!
Normal component door pods are a fair bit easier!
Just remember to watch where you put them coz of the glass when window down and the magnet!! Also water drips down the door inside, so try and built the speakers to stitch out a little, not flush with the back of the door card.

Sod it! I'll keep the front ones for now and just sort out the head and 6x9's in the back. Cheers anyway
