I am assuming that my Cavalier GLS 2.0 16v Ecotec (X20XEV) has a F20WR fitted as standard?

If so, whats the scope for changing the final drive to a CR one?

Any info greatly appreciated

They are available from Quaiffe, 400-500 quid though

Surely if i pillage one from an SRi with a CR box, thatd do the trick?

You will probably have an F18WR. Either way, the pinion is machined onto the mainshaft.

I rebuilt the gears from an F18WR onto an F16CR mainshaft (and used the matching crown wheel) to achieve the ratio/Final Drive combo I needed, and it was a bit of a pain in the ****.

If I were you I'd find the gearbox you want and change the whole thing, it's far easier
