Did a few bits to it - back window tints, smoked rear lights, stainless steel Powerflo exhaust, De-catted with an SRi manifold (yes - i finally got it lol) 15" Wolfrace alloys, head unit, amp, sub, 6x9's and an SR interior with GSi dash (now got the black door cappings on) also fitted a new grill.

And today I had the rear arches done. Well - only one because it took all day lol evidence of an EXTREMILY bad repair; terrible welding, super messy filler and a sh!t paint job, all in the inner part was a great big rust hole that would only get bigger, so we patched it up. removing the rear door card, i could reach through the hole and touch the floor lol

the lip has also been rolled back, because they kept catching the wheels. Perfect now though, so 60mm drop maybe? Getting the other side done tomorrow, and next week im having both the new doors put on. Then soon, its getting a full respray in black, GSi skirts on, GSi spoiler and bumpers. constuctive critisism welcome lol :thumb:

yeah it is FAIRLY rust free, but i was just shocked at how bad the repair was. looked like a 20 minute jobby :eek: the doors arent that rusty, but they dont sit on the hinges right. new doors pins needed - but i have 2 mint doors that may aswell go on scene as i have them. AW06 is having my drivers door i think lol

see when you lift the doors like to check the pins for play on mine the play was between the door and the hinge before the part the pin goes in.

yes theres alot of play in it, definately new pins needed. but the work of replacing the pins - i may aswell just fit the new doors i have too. then i can wire up all the leccy windows, and remote central locking kit i have.

nobody likes my wheels :mad: i dont care :) lol and no i tried a corsa airbox (the actual air filter housing box, not the top box which i have on the car at the moment) i tried that, the bonnet wouldnt shut. i suppose thats why you brother cut his down. i just whakked a K&N on the end until i can find something better. can you tell your bro to give me a ring actually please i might buy his corsa airbox that he cut down, because hes not using it no more is he?

Got the other arch done today. Also rolled, and is now absolutely mint :) but we found another bodged repair, but really bad! there was a stupid amount of sealant slapped over a very rusty sill. and the rust just ate through it all and turned into one big splodge of gayness. Not sure if you can see it well in this picture but meh

The inner arch was rusty. it had rusted from the inside out. we grinded out the rusty bits and welded on a new plate, then welded that to the bodywork

Dropped out the back springs and jacked the rear beam up to see how much clearance i had. can lower it about 30/40 mil without rubbing. And the arch is all done :)

got both new doors on today, they are both mint (this one was halfway rubbed down) i didnt get a pic of the other side. wiring up the leccy windows on friday. Next to do after that is repair my gsi bumper, put that on, gsi skirts on and gsi spoiler, then thats about it.

well the car was driven 300 miles yesterday, we got about 10 meters and realised that the back wheel was scrubbing very badly against the arch, it was the first time the car had been driven since i put the rear springs on. im thinking about selling those wheels and buing some veccy alloys like these

Car is getting sprayed next week, after being let down by a few people i decided to look in the phone book and phone up some places and get a list of prices. I was quoted £700 for a full respray - engine bay, door shuts, boot etc... all repairs done like a few spots of rust, scratches and so on. they collect the car, and deliver it back to me :) i went to see the bloke and he had a mint little mk2 nova sitting outside, and i mean mint! lol not a mark on it. he gave £50 for it, but wouldnt sell it to me :roll: Their work seems good from what i've seen.

all that is going on next is some gsi skirts i have. lined them up on the car yesterday and they look lovely. i like my wheels tbh, i think they suit the car. thanks for your opinion though. but if you noticed, there's a steelie on the back. the n/s rear wheel clears the arch fine, but the o/s rear wheel rubs badly. I need to buy some 185/45's for the back and just keeping 195/45's on the front. i tried some 185 50's - they clear the arches but rub when there is alot of weight in the car. i was told that 45's will clear perfectly.

I noticed you said you have a de-cat exhaust how does that work out cos ive looked every where for an exhaust system i found one but its from the cat back so thats the centre section and back box by a company called sportex.

i just used an sri exhaust manifold, the one with the twin downpipe. i just brought an exhaust system that fitted the gsi's. i think (if anybody can confirm this) that the nova gte's have no cat. they are the exhaust's to go for if you want it de'catted. or you can just buy a de cat pipe. what nova you got? you have a project thread yet?

Ive got nova 1.2 luxe+ i havnt got a thread yet but i will put one up once the real work has started unless people would like to see what it looks like at the moment. so what your sayin is if i got a sri manifold bolted it on then got a gsi exhaust sytem that would then bolt straight on and bobs your uncle straight through exhaust.

im only usingn the sri exhaust manifold because it has the lambda sensor on as well as twin downpipe. the gsi exhaust manifold is the same apart from it doesnt have the lambda. but yeah gte/gsi exhaust manifold, gte exhaust (90% sure it doesnt have a cat) and there you go :)

i thought u was going to say that about the lambda because yours is injection so is mine but i did a bit of rooting aroud on the internet and the same company who is sending my exhaust (sportex) which is either from the cat back or from the downpipe, in my case the cat back, they do a exhaust manifold and downpipe for the sri/gsi but it still retains the lambda sensor so im assuming that it will all fit.

yeah its hard to get hold of the sri manifolds. if you want to fork out alot for a new one from vauxhall then no problem. but i got my one after months of searching lol no other vauxhalls have the same manifold as the sri's with lambda. you can drill a hole in the downpipe and weld in a nut, or boss or something so the lambda can screw into it. thats what i was going to do but as a last resort because i wanted the manifold. :)

mine is on the manifold too. but you can move it to the downpipe. cant drill into manifold. its cast iron, but you can drill into the downpipe so mount the sensor there. will still do its job

ive just got it, it goes manifold, downpipe, de-cat, centre section then back box. so surley when they mean (sportex im talking about) it still retains the lambda sensor they mean it is still fixed to the manifold so in which case i can put the sri manifold in with the downpipe then the sri de-cat then the centre section and back box.

i think that those exhausts come with the lamda in thet downpipe. if not then just do it yourself, only if you cant get hold of sri manifold

no i mean, somemtimes the aftermarket exhausts have the mounting for the lamda sensor in the downpipe. it wont come in the manifold, most likely it will be ready to fit in the downpipe. you see what i mean yeah

dont get me wrong i know what you mean it was just that it said The manifold replaces the standard cast iron manifold and the downpipe and connects to either the standard cat or the Sportex cat replacer and has facility for the lambda (O2) sensor. so im just hoping when i speak to them they say YES SIR THE LAMBDA SENSOR IS IN THE MANIFOLD IT WILL JUST BOLT STRAIGHT ON.

yep ive replaced loads of parts for the mot. track rod ends, indicator, suspension leg. and i had my uncle look over it who was an mot tester and seems to think it will pass with flying colours if i get the fog light sorted.

Piece of piss, run a wire to a switch from the brown wire with white stripe at the fan, and the other side to earth, ive cut a second switch in next to the foglight switch, the fan is perm live with the ignition on so you just earth it and hey presto:thumb:

clear rear lights, sprayed grab handle black (it was silver), wired up the central locking, fitted the rear anti roll bar today, and oh my god what a difference it makes! lol

Much better with the handle sprayed black instead of silver.

I kinda like the car, but dont like the tinted windows, clear lights and the wheels, you should put some coilovers on it and some slabs or something, or 5 stud convo and cav turbo rims, would look the business.
