CONVERSION ?

Do you have a 2.0 in your car at the moment or are you changing to Internal gear over a standard GSI tank, lines ect?

If you can list a more accurate description of what you currently have and what you propose it may help people understand your situation quicker and better.

Best of luck

Edit : Re-read, don't mean to sound Btichy lol.

am in the process of puttin one in but want to get all parts together so i can put them all straight in instead of waitin for parts to arrive,
It's a 1.2 merit plus and was gonna use astra gsi fuel pump but have been told to get a swirl pot aswell so i thought i'd ask on here before puttin my hand in my pocket:)
ps. wasn't too bitchy:thumb:

MK1 or MK2 .

If it's a MK1 you will need to get a new/used Injection tank, lines, filter and pump from a GSI (Well thats the easy option).
If its a MK2 and has a SPi tank then I'm not sure if you'll need the astra pump (I believe it has an internal pump, think i heard it somewhere not 100%, However i don't know if the pump is adequate to fuel the 2.0) Is that why you have the astra one ? I don't know.

But both options (Thats if you update the pump in the SPi tank if need be) should cope with road driving fine.

If your car is built for track in mind I would save up , get a fuel cell (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/alloy-6-gallon-fuel-tank-race-rally-track-car-kit-car_W0QQitemZ280301569182QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Car sParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item280301569182&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1301%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C 240%3A1318), Red Top (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FACET-RED-TOP-FUEL-PUMP-ESCORT-CAPRI-CORTINA-FIESTA-XR2_W0QQitemZ110305705474QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Car sParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item110305705474&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1301%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C 240%3A1318) (Facet) pump , Braided lines (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Competition-8mm-Stainless-Steel-Braided-Fuel-Line-3m_W0QQitemZ120358527289QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Cars Parts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item120358527289&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1299%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C 240%3A1318) ect and your swirl pot.

Don't buy what i've linked.I only found these to show you what I'd be looking for.

However to cut it down , No you don't "NEED" a swirl pot.In fact GSI parts work fine on a road C20XE (so I know?).
If your thinking of stripping the car and running internal fuel lines with up-rated gear then you'll need to get the correct size fittings is all (As mention in the eBay add)

Tom

Sorry if none of this helpslol

EDIT : Just to say I'm not 100% sure of what you currently have. What you have changed and what you have got planned.I also could be wrong. My asre is covered

You don't need a swirl pot for the conversion so I wouldn't bother. You can always put one on at a later date if you want.

You only need a swirl pot to stop fuel starvation after hard cornering. I only started getting fuel starvation problems after I had a pretty well sorted sprint car and then it only happened on one or two of the corners on track. So you will probably never need one for road use.

However IF you still wanted to put a swirl pot in the car you would need the swirl pot (The one you have listed is fine), another injection pump, additional fuel filter and the extra fuel piping to plumb it all in.

I have a gte/gsi tannk with internal swirl pot and it's poop. I get fuel starvation at 1/2 tank when cornering hard.

X16XEL on TB's by the way.
