what are the differences between the engines?

other than the 40's

The Irmscher cam was an optional extra and did not come with the car as standard.

cornish your right in what your saying but i believe the wrong way round


The G.M Dealer Sport pack can be supplied less camshaft, for normal road usage

other quotes from the brochure:

I thought the camshaft came with the sport but wasn't fitted?

the whole - "nova sport pack" was ordered with the car, and once the car was at the dealers from where it was being purchased from, then the dealers put the packs on before resale


VERY IMPORTANT - The fitment of the GM Dealer Sport Pack must take place after the vehilce has been registered

what was the bhp of the sport, I was told it was 96bhp?

power increase of over 35% to give a top speed of 114mph allied to vivid aceleration throughout the gears

so whatever a 1.3 sr is..... 70bhp at the fly?? multiplied by 1.35

= 94.5 BHP

(quote does say OVER 35% so your 96 figure isnt far wrong) - bare in mind these are flywheel figures, not at the wheel.

just as a little aside - i also found this..........



This carefully devised sports pack, fitted by your vauxhall opel dealer fully reflects the ............

so it is eveident that the car comes as standard 1.3SR.

has all of the gubbins aded to the discretion of the client (i.e with or without cam - and then its sold that way.

Where can you get a sports cam from ?
