this is how i allways do my front wings, lol

no cracks of paint on the outside, just some light scratches which iv just t-cutted off :)

total time, 2mins (including getting wing off lol)

iv applied wax oil on the inside, to stop it going rotten as quick lol

you should of just grinded the fronts but good work anyways.
Rears are a piece of pee! Hammer a small piece of wood in your hand. I don't think I even used a piece of wood and mine went round ok. I used a copper hammer.

You could of at least used a panel hammer you riggy ****er..., saying that i had to use a 4lb jobbie for my flared arch effort.

I do the same Baxter, works a treat and doesn't bend the panel at all.

my mate used to do this on the rears with his old novas. he then got a SRi which looked to be in mint condition. he got the hammer out and tapped it and half the arch fell off cos it was full of filler lol

looks like uv done a top job tho!

if you grind the lip off you lose all strength in the wing.

same as what i do but i use a panal hammer and dolly loll

if you grind the lip off you lose all strength in the wing.

if you grind the lip off, you give the wing maybe 5% of its original strength

if you fold the lip over on itself, you create a rust trap & give the wing maybe 10% of the original L profile strength

not much in it really.....

Note to admin

why isn't this in styling?????????

I use a suitable wheel size and a round bar (35 - 44mm) and hold it in between the wheel and arch and have someone very slowly pull off in the car as I roll the bar along between it and the arch. Leaves it nicely rolled to the shape of the wheel but can crack the paint unless you have some sort of rubber insulation on the bar, which I do. Heat Shrink FTW.

I did my old wing on the front lawn, soft grass didnt mark the paint.

I grind mine off but leave a small lip of a few mm.

Nope, 1.4 60mm springs with a xe and you get a tiny bit on full lock, 80mm you get a bit more, asbaxter said 100+mm and you a man.
When you have to pull the arches too your a king.
