as you may have seen on here i have a wip thread and i have taken my sr engine out thinking it was a 14nv but after inspection iv found out its a e16se and was wondering what these engines were normally in from factory

its a carb'd engine so wouldnt of thought so mate and havnt got any uploaded yet as im waitin to get on my mates laptop do post all my pics up on my thread

Could be a spi from a corsa or astra or somthing.

Cavs might have come with a 1.6 carb?

its got e16se stamped on the block and 16 stamped on the head aswell so unless its had the carb slapped on it then its how the engine come.
but it was a nippy little bugger when it was in the car even with 3 exaust manifold bolts missing i just got a bit bored ov it so went a brought a 2.0 8v

i would have thought it had a carb fitted. Or a SPI system.

well theres like 5 wires for the whole engine so its got to have been a spi or something along those lines.
but me and my mate are putting it in his nova monday with the 3 bolts in that were missing,
so it may even leave my nova behind when there both finished.
if it does im putting sugar in his petrol tank lol

its just a gte/gdi engine with a carb fitted. no big mystery

i no its a carb im not that stupid its got a pierburg on it i was just wondering what it was out of and if it was factory fitted with a carb or its been played with

They've already answered your question, the 16SE engine was MPI out of the factory. And no Novas came with 1.6 carbs.

You want to know if the carb and inlet was fitted with a carb from the factory?

no iv figured out it wasnt.
obviously it was off the old 14nv that was in the car before the 16se
as its a pierburg carb so thats whats made me come to this conclusion may be wrong but who cares lol cheers anyway for your help guys
