Right, i have a private plate, currently on retention. It was fitted to a mk2 astra 16v i scrapped for bits approx 2 years ago. I had it valued at the time by various reg places, and it returned a value of approx £950.
Now i could do with shifting this, so does anyone know where a, i can sell it instantly, or b, auction it off (NOT e-gay).
Anyone used anywhere, any experiences? Any help appreciated. :thumb:

Nope, it's already on retention fella, so it's ready to be tranferred to a new owner/buyer, as long as their car is taxed and tested.I just need to sell the damn thing!

Yep the car HAS to have t&t to be able to remove the reg and put on retention. It doesn't matter what happens to it after that iirc.

you will need to have a look it might even be out of date. if you need to sell it fast you will only get about half of that money because they will want to make money on it, i got offered about £300 and they had it up for £999
i would just google number plates and call them all up and see what they say.

Nope, tis still in date, in fact it's up for re-newal at the end of feb, hence why i could do with shifting it.
Tried googling, tis difficult to find just folks who'll buy it direct.

try these, but i think you will have to re-new before you will sell it, or just put it on a car

The certificate is still valid though? runs out in march, have checked. Costs me £120 to swap it back to a car, so will just pay the £25 and keep it on retention for another year.

Couple of valuations have come back today, from on-line enquires, rubbish prices offered!

thats an insane value on that plate!!!!!

the plate I have on retention was valued stupidly high.. have dropped the price and still no joy :(

Might ask if the DVLA want to swap it for a £250 one as I've found a cracking one

Most 'places' wont buy it off you unless its uber rare and you want it little for it.
Most places will only offer to sell it for you, so means you have to hang on to it while they advertise it and take a percentage. Ebay, or private ads is the only other way.
Im no expert in prices, but it seems a little over valued to me too. id expect not more than £400-500
