it was probably a stupid question but this guy was very certain.
He's a knob. Print this and show him. I assume he has a Haynes manual for his 2.0 Nova?
james_19
09-01-09, 01:01 AM
lol haha. its ridiculous because the guy is very knowledge about cars. he used to rally race cosworths.
hmm now, before you all go ape vaux did build a big block prototype, but it was a 2.0 8v and for rallying
james_19
09-01-09, 01:05 AM
and they found out it was a pile of crap
and they found out it was a pile of crapdid it not handle by any chance lol
james_19
09-01-09, 01:08 AM
it was useless at handling, i think it understeered alot and wasnt quick enough. basically it was NOT a rally car
actually it was good but senior management pulled the plug as they wanted the astra fer that class. better press?
james_19
09-01-09, 01:21 AM
it wasnt that good pretty poor really, compared to the astra it was rubbish, i think they only raced it once. am not sure why they pulled it out could have been better press.
tbh a 2.0 can handle, esp on armac. i think the other reason is homoglation aswell. theyd have to make 1000 to compete

well anyway mate am off to bed, i understand yes. i personally thing it was a stupid idea by vauxhall to try turn a nova into a rally car. but it had its good parts and more bad parts in my opinion.
aye, but we love em lol laters bud
dont forget the Lotus Nova
EUROTURBO

LMFAO, no they'd be too busy having a siesta and combing their moustaches lol
In fact, were any 2.0 engine'd cars built in Zaragoza? Was there even a 2.0 engine in the Vauxhall/Opel range when the Nova was designed?

Is the answer a yes then? 2.0 8valve in the Cavalier?
And also the astra GTE 8v which was 86-87 same as cav SRi 130 so its near enough for me to feel all happy and correct lol
Pistol Pete
09-01-09, 04:58 PM
Astra GTE was 1.8 8v, no?
Also had 2.0 8v at some point, but again thats not early 80s. Hmmmmmmm
Spud you can't answer half my statement and ignore the rest then pretend to be right LOL lol
Get on chat btw :p
Did you know there's a field in spain full of brand new, unused Nova shells?
Were they not complete cars, ive seen them!
Was there even a 2.0 engine in the Vauxhall/Opel range when the Nova was designed? So you're all wrong lol It seems they were all designed at the same time,Novas will have been designed in 80-81 maybe then produced in 82 and 1st reg in 83
They were 2litres around though, the viva gt but that was late 60's??
Spud you can't answer half my statement and ignore the rest then pretend to be right LOL lol

hmmm ill tell bill blydenstein he's wrong then.......... as thats where the info came from. and the first 2.0 8v was made in 84 in the cav cd, iirc. btw bill was talking about the same time as the gte rally cars.
hmmm ill tell bill blydenstein he's wrong then.

lol you daft lad! i can see them now.....
on a more seriouse note does anybody have any REAL information on the lotus nova or have i missed something here........... lol
i beleive the engine lay out of the nova etc is a group b family lay out?? so i suppose some of the moustache wearers may of had an incline to a 2.0 nova.
the lotus nova is a joke, though there is a corsa b lotus. the nova is family 1 orientated, but its that easy i guess they did think bout it.
though there is a corsa b lotus.
proof or FOAD
And that dosent count the fact that Lotus helped with the chassis development with the mid 90's cars
