I'm at a loss as to which coloured wires go to the switch in the glove box [that activate the glove box light] and the actual lamp itself.

If anyone knows or could take a quick look for me that would be cool :)

Also, If I wanted to make the petrol gauge on the dash clocks read full which wire[s] should be joined?

Black and brown - there should be a couple plugs for the lamp hanging out the loom near the glovebox.

Not sure about the gauge though

i know a way to make ur petrol gauge read full, not cheap but more advantages than crossing any wires,

right,

what ya do is jump in the motor, go to your nearest petrol station, 40 quid later PRESTO!

and the best bit about this mod is you even get a free tank of fuel,

Okie RazorJack in the same glove box is a push switch that activates the lamp - could you take a look and let me know which wires connect to that please?

GJ Novaboi on the tip but the reason that wont work is because it doesn't run a nova fuel tank / gauge.

I Guess by connecting the two petrol gauge wires together would make the dial read full, but what colour are the 2 wires..?

The fuel sender is just a variable resistor.
The blue/black wire to the gauge from the sender, if you earth it, it will make the gauge read off the scale.

You can make the gauge read any figure you like using elec testing equipment. They only work on, as said, variable resistor.

What year is your nova? I'll check Haynes.

From memory, and most likely, the brown wire from the lamp (earth) goes via the push button switch. I think mine went from the lamp, back into the loom, looped up to take up slack, then back out to the switch, then off to earth.

The black wire to the lamp will be switched live.

Ahhhhh yeah that sounds right now on the lamp switch.

Thanks for the wire in question identified Adam.
