I know this isn't going to help but.......

My Brother's C reg 1.0 took leaded and had rear belts.
My Sister's B reg 1.2 didn't have rear seatbelts.

Dont worry bout the belts, if you dont have rear seats, you dont have to have rear belts. They'll just put it as an advisory when you get your mot done as you know.

I am sure that all cars from D reg onward had to have rear seatbelts - it might have been 1987 that the change was made so that an 86D may not have rear belts - cannot remember for sure but certainly 1987 - they are listed as standard in the brochure for that year.

Unleaded - some models changed around 1985 but many of the 1.2s 1.3 ohc engine could take inleaded from launch - I had a 1983 1.8 Manta a long while back (same engine design) and it could take unleaded by retarding the ignition a couple of degrees.

as manta mad and breeny said, as far as im aware any nova from 83 had "lined" bores so could run on unleaded.

of course i could/prob am wrong on the date but the car your going to see will not have been run on lrp i wouldnt have thought.
