insted of a dash

just wondering what people use instead of a full dash i.e alloy plates/boxes plastic, carbon, fiberglass

Have a look at some of the track car WIPs for good custom dashes.

Ash made a proper bo custom dash which looked quite cool

I was looking at a homemade dash in a skyline earlier. You could see how it was made & it was flocked on the outside but had exposed allenkey bolts giving away how it appeared to be made. Really cool I thought.

so people still run heaters without the dash how does this help the window mist situation(sp) then.

It wont help, it will hinder the widscreen mist situation.

You could still run with heaters, even if you havent got a dash, as shown in L33LEG's pic. If you remove the heaters, demisting the windscreen will be impossible. Unless you have a heated screen.

I plan to cut down the existing blowers, then retro fit somesort of venting to guide the air to the screen.
They dont need to be heaters, cold blowers can demist, just not as effeviently has warm ones will.

as said, without that heater there is no way of clearing the window. saying that though my switch for it blew a fuse after a few weeks and for months after that i managed, i just drove with the window slightly open and it was fine. but also, i never parked it anywhere where it would mist up. parked in a garage every night and at work was left under a light Lol. i seriously wouldnt advise on having no heaters though.

and burgo is correct, whatever you dont NEED just get rid :) the only place i have added weight for 'looks' purposes was to extend my wiring loom so it could be nicely hidden underneath the panel!

I managed to use my Nova as a daily driver for 3 months with no heaters, just blowers. Its not that bad! Neither of my XEs have had heating as i could never be bothered with sorting the heater matrix pipes out!
