E16SE No spark!

I somehow managed to loose the spark on my E16SE whilst unplugging things and taping them up etc. I've checked all over the engine and made sure everything is plugged in but can't work out why i have no spark?

I have power going to the coil when the ignition is on and the red and blue points on the coil have power. what could be the problem?

Any help would be appreciated

is the engine earthed?

Yes i have the earth strap from the chassis to the gearbox and the earth on the engine loom

Check the plug on the dizzy.
do you have no spark even between coil and dizzy?

I have no spark from the coil ie from the main coil lead

I did have to change the plug that fits the dizzy on my engine loom?One of the wires may have broken, would this affect it?

I had the same problem on my old GTE... Was the dizzy... Replaced and ran fine. Might be worth "borrowong" one if possible to try ;)

Strip back the loom and check, of course it's going to affect it, its electronically controlled.

Yes, the dizzy tells the ecu the engine is rotating. So if it plays up you wont get spark or fuel

Sorted it today thanks for the help

I had to change the plug on the engine loom that fits onto the dizzy and i got a couple wires the wrong way round. I had to use trial and error to get it right but i've got a nice spark there now.
