thanks:thumb:

Looks great :eek::thumb:

very kind of you:thumb:

Well I think I've sorted it. Means a bit more work but should be pretty neat and wont cost me a penny! I've removed the veccy pump and ripped the baffle out of the tank, and stuck it to the inside of the nova carb tank, (after I'd cut a big hole in it). Now going to make some pipe unions and fit the wiring plug to the piece I cut out and weld it back in. I wont be able to get at the pump ever again but I've nothing to lose as it's all free!lol:Dlol

I've started customising the tank, Welded the vectra stuff to my cutout. Had to keep drenching it when welding so as not to melt the plastics too much. Going to let it dry out then blast the seams with some tank sealer just to be double sure of any resulting pinholes. Will stop the thing from rusting too after burning the galv. bit rough I know but need to spend money on other stuff.

Pump looks good, Just be careful when your welding the tank, fumes could make it go up in smoke!

I've sorted my slam panel, (just needs tidying now), fitted a cav shifter (much easier than I thought thanks to the guides), removed all the glass ready for welding the cage and I shoud hopefully have the exhaust finished by the end on next week with the seats in too. Pics to follow.

Then I've just got the wiring to sort out. Help!!! Please!!!

Fantastic; going for it then.

Taking the time to make it as good as it needs to be! Spend some time with grill & maybe a GSi front bumper & you'll be right!

If you've not zapped them in yet, raise them up more.

novadoneitthistime
21-11-16, 08:08 PM
I wasn't quote sure how high to have them. I set the axle beam to the ride height I wanted and then set the dampers to the mid point of their travel. It only ended up about 20mm higher than the standard ones. Just doesn't hit the wheel and tyre anymore. I thought they'd end up a lot higher. I thought mid point would be good so can raise the car back up if it ends up a rally car.

novadoneitthistime
21-11-16, 08:11 PM
I'm using leda's at the minute and they've only got 160mm of travel

novadoneitthistime
27-11-16, 06:58 PM
OK so I got the other side all cut in and ready to weld up.

Dan and I started tacking in the cage. It's a much bigger job than I first thought it would be. Needs a bit of fettling here there and everywhere. Should be really tidy when it's finished though.

We had to drill two holes through the bulkhead to do the turret tubes. I knew I had a 43mm hole saw that would do the job perfectly. Only problem was I couldn't find the arbor for the bigger sizes. 'No problem! ' said I to Dan. We'll just use the smaller hole saw as the pilot! This is super dangerous and very very stupid. (but it did work)
http://i415.photobucket.com/albums/pp237/novadoneitthistime/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG-20161120-WA0000.jpg (http://s415.photobucket.com/user/novadoneitthistime/media/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG-20161120-WA0000.jpg.html)

Although it did snap the pilot saw pilot drill! 'Never mind' said I, 'Ive got loads of masonry bits and they don't snap!'

Job jobbed!
