seen this on ebay and thought it was pretty decent.

yes its for a ford engine but easily could be changed with a different manifold.

Normal price tbh. Jenveys are only around £400-£500, then the inlet-£150, and then the megasquirt is £200-£300

oo ok fair enough. so basically if i was to buy that with a c20xe manifold i would be looking at around that price?

Not the best kit in the world either. SBD do a better kit, but to be fair it is a lot more expensive

Yes. Plus someone to setup/map the megasquirt(which most places wont even take a look at)

They say the kit is the same price for a GTI-6, isnt that 6 cylinder?

thanks adam, just learning you see.
oo i realise that many places wont bother with the megasquirt, is there an alternative??
a place near me, am positive, will map the megasquirt.
what power increase would you be looking at on a standard c20xe??

Nope, its a 4pot 2L
The "6" bit refers to a 6spd gearbox :thumb:

Jenveys and a good mapped system usually gives about 180hp on a xe.
Theres loads of alternatives to MS, all of which cost more.

cheers, some of the engine management systems cost a small fortune. just out of interest if i bought some say gsxr750 bike throttle bodies, what cost would you be looking at to put them a c20xe?? and increase in power??

bear in mind that a higher cost ECU will most likely take far far far less time to map, so overall the costs might be the same/less. AND also its worth noting that most aftermarket ECU's retain shed loads of their value (eg at most a 20% drop every time they change hands, where as 2nd hand MS is peanuts from what I can see) so your overall cost might be lower. Food for thought

thanks pal what ecu would you recommend? obviously not the most expensive for my purposes thanks

Ask where your going for mapping which ecu they prefer to work with.
An ecu is useless if theres no one that can get a decent map on it.
DTA/Omex/Emerald/Go-Tech/MBE
all do the job
