View Full Version : Alloys problem
Hi all,
I need a bit of help with wheels going on to my car, I want to put some corsa c sri ones on and i was just wondering if they'd fit on ok as my car has been lowered 90mm at the rear and my arches are fully intact. I have 15's on at the moment and the tyres are only just missing the arches, however they are 185/55/15's, any help would be gratefully appriciated!
Thanks in advance fellas!:thumb:

What tyres are on the new wheels? This will be the deciding factor.
it would have to be 195/40/16's wouldn't it bud?

At a guess i'd say they wont fit then. You have 15's at the mo on 185/55/15 (which BTW seem an odd choice. Usually 195/45/15) and they scrub, add an inch and it will cause problems.
Hope that helps.
They were already on the car when i got them, they dont scrub, its just close, i thought if they were a smaller profile it'd be ok though
They should fit mate, seeing as there 6J Et49 only fact is that there and inch bigger so should be fine.

Speedlines *i think* are 16's. What tyres do people run with these?

Both 40's and 45 buy there 6.5 J wide so they stick out a little further.
They actually look quite smart dont they?
the ones im after are anthracite too so would go on my car well as the bumpers and skirts are grey
Anybody else have any thoughts on this?

I can only advise as i have never personally had these wheels fitted to my car. They SHOULD fit because they are exact same offset and width as my Cesaro's and i have no problems what so ever. BUT they are an inch bigger, not that it should make alot of difference anyway as vxandy's arches have not been rolled so the arch lip on the rear will catch before actually hitting the arch it self. Iirc the arch lip on the rears is about 3/4 of an inch ?
If you want my opinion then, if you want a set of these wheels on ebay for instance go with your nova and ask the seller if you can jack your car up and quickly try them on, that way you'll know for sure if they'll fit. :thumb:
According to this jay they do exist: http://ejelta.com/tiresize/index.html?ws16=1&
There not on e-bay though mate and they dont have any tyres on them either, what do you think

Thats just a calculator, im 99.9% they don't. If you can try them on the car before you buy them then thats your best option mate.
Jay.

i will say they will fit with no rubbing. i had 195/45/16s on my last nov and it was lowered about 90. the only time i felt it rub was when i gave a fat guy a lift home from the pub.
Were your arches original though and not tampered with as mine are original!
Youre gonna have to get them rolled up fella, i'm pretty certain 195/40/16's will not fit on standard arches
195/45/15s are a tight on standard arches at 90mm, never mind 16s....

i have plenty of room at the moment. they used to rub with yokos then i fitted toyos. problem solved some how.
Yeah, alot depends on tyre manufacturer too, not all same size tyres are EXACTLY the same, should shape etc can differ.

Is this something i could do myself john or do you have any idea what it would cost?:thumb:

So you have 195/45/16's lowered by 90mm and there fine? Are your arches original too?
