Free HD tv/ps3 sites etc??

Right I'm never one to get sucked into any scams or the like as I'm quite switched on, i have seen this site http://gadgets.freebiejeebies.co.uk/lightbox.php
It was advertised on ebay you had to buy the info to it, lol or just find it your self like i did, so what I'm trying to figure out is, is it just a load of balls, Ive read the terms and conditions etc, I'm just wondering do these sort of sits actually work? as i cant see whats in it for them, apart from spamming you and your friends email address's

if its the same as what i used to do
you either fill in questionnairs to earn points and once you have earned enough points you get the free tv etc

or

you have to earn referals
sometimes it can be 2 for a small gift or 20 for a big gift, and the referal has to sign up and complete an offer

tbh there isnt any point at all, it is incredibiltiy hard to earn referals, and everyone hates it when you spam them for **** lol

there pyrmid schemes! they do work but it cant take a very very very very long time to get anywhere.
