Your router needs to have wireless built in, I'd assume most do but haven't really looked, you'll need to configure the router with wireless security, most likely covered in the manual.

I hate to say it but your best bet is going to comet or pissyworld and telling them what youve got, whats you want to do with it and see what they say, you need a wireless router and usually they come with all software and distructions needed to install it but not sure about your xbox though if they need to be wired or can do wireless!

I've just got wireless at home, it's mint!! If you already have broadband but only have a wired modem (like what I had) ring up your broadband provider and ask them to upgrade you to wireless and send you a wireless router. We did this and they upgraded us from 2-8 meg (??) for free, just had to renew our contract for 18 months. Then when your router arrives you plug it all in and stick the disc in your lap top to set it up - that's it!! If you want to add other computers stick the disc in them and it's done.
You'll need a wireless adapter for your Xbox if it's not near the router, there £50ish online. If your xbox is near the router you can just plug an Ethernet cable into it.

Theres 2 types of wireless router BTW, ADSL connection and "the other one" lol

The original telewest (white cable into net modem) uses "the other one" connection.

We picked up a wireless Class C router from the wholesales on boxing day for £45, covers the entire house, most of garden and the loft lol lol

Id recommend buying netgear stuff but depending on what exact setup you can run I couldnt say what model. For an example, im on virgin (so my tv, xbox, router etc is all in same place) - I run my laptops wirelessly and xbox wired from a netgear wgr614 (router only, not built in modem as u have to use virgin supplied one - they also supply the netgear by the way if you go with them). If you cant have the router and xbox in same place then u need an xbox wireless jobby and rtun the lot wireless.

DONT GO TO PC WORLD OR COMET!

if you go there theyll sting you, my dad went there an ended up spending close to a ton on a router an wireless dongle,

which are being sold on ebay for 50 posted,

plus, those shops are for newbies, lol

If you know what you want/are doing then PC world can be quite handy.... eg stuff is usually only £5-10 more than the tinterwebs and you get to have it there and then :D

Get a Netgear router if you can. Avoid Belkin at all costs.

Their reserve online and pick up instore prices are actually pretty damned competitive on some things.

I'm not a fan of Belkin, Davina had one once which was a real fag to setup and the wireless aspect kept dropping off. I've got a USR jobbie which hits the spot nicely.
