ive been watching a program at my mum and dads house as ive not got sky yet after getting a house on christmas eve. anyways its on discovery turbo about a guy who converted a land rover to a big off road 4x4.

after watching it ive decided i want to make a nova pick up but make it a big off road one. high suspension etc has anyone got any pictures of anything like this or any tutorials to help with the project? also any pictures to aid the design etc i will be designing it on photoshop so will have some pictures on here soon.
also if anyone is selling an ideal car for me to do this with around the northwest area wa12 9ra and as cheap as poss for the car. anything considered.

thanks for any help or advice you can give me.

there may not be a tutorial as its maybe not been done before.

why dont you do it (be original) and then you write the tutorial.

find a suzuki sj413 jeep (they do pop up on the bay)
rip everything off except the front bulkhead & floor then get the roughest basket case of a 4dr saloon weld up the rear doors & then chop the rear roof bit off.

I am truly worried that if you have watched mark evans & his 100" landrover project then say you are going to design it on photoshop, that you haven't put enough proper thought into it. It pretty much has never been done before, though some lad welded a nova hatch body onto a suzuki a couple of years ago & tried to get big coin for it on the bay. the easiest way to do it is to get the 2 donor cars, a grinder & a forklift then be prepared to get messy with the welder.

good luck.

The link doesn't work for me

but I think that's the one, I remember it had a photo taken from 1/2 mile away to hide the bodges & no mot but it would 'pass easily'

the suzuki chassis is the right size. a landy is huge, a daihatsu sportrak might squeeze under at a push, which would at least give it some horsepower.... but I think it would be quite wide & thus make an ugly conversion..

I wondered how long after i'd mentioned nova saloon, grinder & suzuki jeep, that you'd be sniffing round it, baxter... grinder sparks are like catnip to you......

ps. typical Atherstone, the soil was too hard for the Hunt to ride out on it, so they stood in the markt place for 45mins then buggered off

Conversion???????????????????????
dropping a novashell from a great height onto a sj chassis is not a conversion, now ifthe arches were cut out & the body dropped about a foot, then we'd be nearer
