My Cavaliers brakes work fine. It just passed MOT today, so there is nothing 'wrong' with them. But i do feel that the pedal could do to feel a bit better.

What options do i have?

I have new discs and pads ready to go on all round as they were an advisory. So what could i do to improve pedal feel whilst im in about the stoppers?

Its a 20XE by the way.

Cheers.

bleed the brakes and sand down back shoes and hubs

If its got discs on the back then sanding down the shoes isnt going to make any difference to pedal feel as they are only operated by the handbrake cable. Id say a good bleed should do the trick. I find pressure bleeding always works best :thumb:

adjust the rear drums, exercise all the calipers and floating pins, and bleed the fluid if necessary,

New rubber flexi lines. Completely renew the brake fluid. Adjust the pedal so that the brakes are applied as soon as you press it, but not before.
