gear change problems

Hi just wondering if any one could help i'm having trouble getting 2nd gear only when coming down the gears eg from third or fourth . it still goes up through the gears as it should .
so i was wondering if any one knows what could be wrong ? or is me box scrap.

reset the linkage, do a search for how otr use the haynes manual.
