You can buy your own for reasonable money. Google search "sound meter". CP's brother has one and used it to test static and drive by.

maplins sell them. How accurate they are is another thing though lol mind you saying that, I cant see the circuits splashing the cash for expensive well calibrated units lol

I went to an exhaust place and asked if they could do a static sound test on the car.

not bad price for the cheap one in maplins.

only worth it if you are going to do a few track days imo

look at dars car and a few others like them, they run throttle boddies and get away with it. dar did make a box to make his quieter thou.

That £20 Maplins one is a good buy been looking for affordable dB meters for a while for work, will deffo get one, good for measuring the sound from the Nova aswell.

The accuracy on the first dB meter (£19.99) is terrible, +/-3.5dB. Not worth buying IMHO.

Try contacting your local motor club - they sometimes have them for members to test there own cars (If you were nearer I borrow one from my motor club, we have a decent calibrated one !)

Other than that any local motorsport event would have a sound test on the day of the race/rally - pop along and ask

I went through this and though F it and just went to Donny!

£110 and 6 laps later, I wish I invested!lol

1 box and 3" will be over 100 db, depending on the diameter of the box

Mine is 2.5" and 2 box and it was 102 ish....

Will you be taking it to a rolling road? Most have pretty accurate noise meters.
