anyone know what an Idle stabilization control unit is and where i could get one? it uses 3 wires from the distributor on the 1.3s engine according to haynes (component K34 on page 189). had a look on the internet and couldn't find anything about it but i think its the part of the loom i'm missing to make my car start:cry:!!! any help much appreciated.

If its a 1.3 then it will be a carb engine and wont have an idle control valve which will probably be why you cant find it, unless its running Irmscher injection which tbh im not overly knowledgeable of!

I've only ever seen this on sports, used to keep the revs a little higher than normal when throttle closed iirc. Normally bolted to the inner wing below the coil. Can be seen here, just below the hose to the bottom of the expansion tank.

Your standard 1.3 should run fine without it though......
