Attended a ‘noisy-day’ at Mallory Park yesterday, first ever trackday in around 5 years where I’ve not had my own car :D lol however it was great fun thanks to all those that were there.

Cheers to Browney for taking me out in his XE Corsa on my Michelin slicks, Ady in his 450bhp Scooby – very strange sensation, Chip in his mid enginged RWD Nova very surprised by the handling, was constantly thinking “we’re not gonna make this”, and it just works :eek:, and finally – massive thanks to Rob Twitchell for letting me pilot his, what, 370bhp Astra GTE Turbo with aggression, thoroughly enjoyed it!

Was great to meet more new faces, those know who you are :)

Great Pics Olly.

Whats Rob's Astra like now? I went in it a long time ago with a fairly boggo LET in it and it was a little silly then!

Its just insane, it the Autronic S4 ECU he's running has a trick TPS vs Boost, so at 25% throttle, it'd only give you 0.8bar, at 50%, it'd give you 1.2bar, and 75% and up throttle, would give you the full 1.8bar (or whatever you're running). OK, slightly corrected, its mapped Boost vs RPM, so it also depends where abouts you are in the rev-range... lol

Very strange sensation, almost drove like a NA car, until you went from 0-100% throttle immediately, as then you'd get the full 1.8bar from the off.

Feathering it out the corners was very gradual, which means you could control the wheel spinnage, and the cornering was very predictable yet tight, like my Nova :thumb: and it revved to 7750rpm, which I enjoyed lol

Added: when Chip finally finishes mapping it to a result they're both happy with, the TPSvsBoost will go something along the lines of
25% = 250lbft
50% = 300lbft
100% = 350lbft

For as long as possible, the 100% one it wont quite hold higher up, as that would be 500bhp obviously, but for as long as it can, he will set it to those.

Could do with it getting it on the rollers and draw lots of graphs to do the maths from though apparently :)
