I have an Astra GTE 16v Digi dash.

I am fitting it to a nova MK2 GSI J Plate with a c20xe and F20 Gearbox.

I understand wiring and fitting its just transducer i am unsure about.

I was given a AK Transducer with the Dash. Is this the right one??

If not which is.

Thanks in advance

You cant tell if its correct untill its all wired in, hence why digi dashs are worthless without the transducer.

Mk2 1.2 spi novas use a transducer for the ecu, these will operate a digi dash quite happily and be just as (in)accurate as any other nova speedo:thumb:

There were two types of digi dash, the tick rev counter (old) and curve type (newer). Both have a red switch that selects between two types of transducers. I was getting the opinion that the older type switch chooses between a 6 impulse or 15 impulse transducer, the newer type switch between an 8 impulse or 15 impulse transducer. I maybe wrong on this but with a bit of info from what others have used it may make sense.

I was using the early type and can vouch the switch position worked as stated for that one, as I wanted to move from the 6 imp to 15 imp transducer so it could run other things as well (power steering speed control).

The AK type is 15 impulse (15imp will be written on it somewhere).

THe switch does not always switch between 6 and 16 impluse. Some times it makes a minor variation that switches between two tyre sizes that were available.

The only 2 transducers that were used on (UK) astra digi dashes, were AH (6imp) and AK (16imp), so you have a 50/50 chance of getting it right 1st time, and if its wrongs, just stick a post up and someone, somewhere might wanna do a swap!

Heres the 16IMP AK I use for my VX220 Dash, (run thru a further 3rd party pulse adjuster)

I also have this 6IMP spare if any1 does want to buy one:

But AA also has got 6 impulses/rev and it was installed in every nova with fuel injection. Speedo cable output you can cover

Oh im not saying those wont work, but the astra ones work fine, so theres no need to have Nova ones. They werent installed with the most common injected nova engine, the GTE/GSI E16SE - IIRC.
