radiator fan

i got my car back together yesterday it is a 1.2l nova. i started it up to reach its normal running temperature but the fan did not come on:mad: . the temperature was nearly in the red. the fan workes when i put 2 wires from it to the batttery.what could be the problem? THANKS :)

thermo switch I bet.

Vauxhall order jobby, i do have a spare from when mine went a bollok if your local...? Bout £15/£20 me thinks, cant remember.

Edit: Not an air lock is it?

You can put you thermo switch in a boiling kettle to see if it works you know.

i dont think it is the thero switch beacuse i joined the 2 wires that connect to the thermo switch and it still did not work. i checked all fuses and they are fine

break in the wire from/to the thermo switch, and if you do bridge the two wires from the thermo switch make sure the ignition is ON...


(else it wont work!)
