is the starter motor and battery good?
I got it started, i just jiggled the earth about on the chassis leg whilst getting someone else turned it over, but here's where the trouble has now started . . . . observe:

It looks like it's coming from the oil cooler, does anyone know if it can be by-passed and if so what i'd need to do it?
Thanks
Yes you can remove the cooler by using a 2.0 8v oil filter thread in the oil pump in place of the cooler sandwich plate.
Nasty! good luck cleaning that up

lol thanks mate, dont suppose you have one do you? Would it run ok without one?
It will run fine without the sandwich plate. the adapters are available form vauxhall, last one i had was about 3 quid.

So i just need that adapter?
yep, ask for one from the c20ne engine code.
Did you say you removed the sandwich plate aswell?
yeah, look closely at the pictures i've posted. Thinks its held to the oil pump with a 12mm allen bolt.

Does anyone have one?
yep, your local Vaux dealer :thumb:
yes, but i will be needing it on mine lol
Bugger, i know vauxhall will have one but it will be a factory order!
only take's a few days that all mine took
I know mate, dont really have a few days thats all
well that's all thgat your gonna have to do, or go scrapper's...
any 8v one should work if you can unscrew it, as they all use the same oil filter i think
i'd rather get a new one to be honest . . . Ohh well i'll just have to be patient!
Thanks fellas!!!

Scrap yard job mate, go and get one off a calibra/cav/Vectra, they should all be the same if it doesnt have an oil cooler! Take a pair of mole grips and make sure you dont destroy the threads where the filter screws on! Thats all I did, it wasnt in very tight so didnt take much to get out!!
(Edit - Ste beat me to it!!)
Just an update for you fella's!!!! . . . I got the oil cooler etc off this morning after having to stick a screwdriver through the oil filter because it was on so tight and getting covered in oil!!!lol
Trouble is i'll after wait till after new year for the new adapter:wtf:
