Cam belts are usually done in situ. Having said that if you've got the drive shafts out its not that big a job to drop the whole lot out really if you've got the right kit. It will take longer but would make work on the transmission and cambelt easier.

To fit an LSD you dont need to split the box or take the cluster out. You have to undo the large bearing adjuster ring which is castellated and is where the passenger side drive shaft goes into the transmission. Once that is out you just undo the inspection cover on the bottom of the final drive housing and remove the crown wheel which has the diff on it. You then unbolt the diff from the crown wheel in a vice and swap the new one on to it. You will need a new gasket for this or make one up of your own. If you are fitting quaife ATB into an F10/13 box I found that i had to grind away a bit of the housing to get enough clearance to allow it to fit into the housing

thanks cp never thought of it that way! good so ill not drop the box ill do it in place on ramps ill let my vaux m8 assess the situ before commencing work on the cam belt! it looks doable but the gap between cam cover and chassis leg is very tight!
