heard no body talk yet though, what kind of range are on the 5ft car aerials ??

I had a 5ft aerial in my room like out the window and my mate had one about the same size on a mag-mount on his van roof and we could talk to each other clearly and that was of a distance of about a mile

But I had a wee mag-mount in my room as well, 2ft maybe and it could pick up people from about 2/3 miles away

Not sure what the crack with that was but its all good fun :)

The range of a CB depends on atmospheric conditions not just pure radio wave signal though.

A small mag mount style ariel will do a mile or two, ideally you need a proper pre-amped ariel for uber long range (my dads rig an ariel can do around 50 mile when there is low air pressure, but his ex military gear mind)

depends on the wattage, the legal wattage is 4watts, iv got an amp in my car which ups it to about 28watts lol

if i park ontop of a hill i can get about 15miles lol

when iv got everything on, i open the channel and the lights go dim lol
