While i was working at the rear end i checked the rear brakes, they where nearly new so i cleaned them up, put new wheel bearings in and gave the drums a lease of life. Then cleaned up the boot lid, the black GTE bit had gone manky. And brought a new GTE badge to go on. :thumb:

More progress! :thumb:

Made the exhaust up, a b!tch to do but sounds good! Fitted the polly bushes on the rear beam, replaced a wheel drum due to the threads being fooked! Then fitted a new wheel bearing on the passenger side front and 2 new track rod ends. Fitting the drivers side wheel bearing at a later date because they only had 1 in stock. Then got the gear linkage sorted and drove her out the garage for the 1st time since the rebuild! :)

Here's some pics.... (needs a good clean)

Good project mate, although I think you should lose that back box lol Nice to see a gte that hasnt had a mk2 front thrown on it, and coilovers sounds like a good choice, I had gmax on my 1.2 and the handling was pants, then had the 2.0 fitted and it was just dangerous!

Any other bits planned for it?

Ernie
31-12-08, 07:55 AM
looks good mate but imho please re-paint the cambelt cover as would look so much better all in white or red but not both.
It's your car at the end of the day but thats the only bit of the build i dont like.
See you at a track soon.

Wow. I owned this car at one point for just over a year.

Found some old pics
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a123/MCCMCC/Image002-2.jpg
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a123/MCCMCC/cfv1.jpg

When i had it i spent a fortune on it. had throttle bodies, smoothed boot, lightened and balanced flywheel ect.

I then sold it to a Daniel White also in maidenhead. Who then sold it to someone up north????? Then it was on Pistonheads.com for sale.
