Well my rad fan decided it didnt want to work teh other day and the rad sprung a leak, i used some radweld and it solved it till it got hot again then the pressure made the leak worse so now i have a leaky rad and a duff fan so ill have to buy new, any good places to go?? 1.4 16v....

But my main issue is obviously with it getting hot (not yet reached 100 on the temp guage) will i have warped the head or funked the head gasket? I know its hard to tell without looking at it but whats the likely hood? I recently fitted a brand new cat so is the steem coming from the exhaust any thing to worry about? Also what other things could i have funked by it getting a tad warm? I had to fill the expansion bottle twice on the way to work (1mile) as it had all leaked out.....

Any info appreciated :thumb:

Merry xmas btw :)

put a egg in the rad that will seal the hole up. and if it gets hot put the fans on hot and as fast as they go. this will stop it getting to hot while you get a new rad

Oh any rad will do from the 1.2 to a 1.6 rad. im using a 1.2 rad with my 16xe and its fine.

In which case you dont wanna be driving it anymore untill you can source a new rad, otherwise youre gonna cook your gasket/head and there is going to be more of a repair bill than just a new radiator needed!

^^^That should work fine tbh bud as most are pretty much the same so might be worth taking that one so youre "off the road" time is shorter untill you can source a shiny one?

I know they both start with the letter M, but this should be in Mech rather than Muppet :p

New rad shouldn't cost you too much anyway. Local rad shop here sells Nova ones for around £40 if I remember rightly, so I can't see a corsa one being that different in price.

make sure its ac spec, iirc its 620mm not 525 or similar. the let and xe corsa boys use em, but ive run xe's with std 1.2 corsa stuff and had no issues.
