Ok, mates just put a 1.6 carb engine into a Nova, the engine has been lying up for an unknown amount of time. However, on its first start, it ran great, not even any valve tapping at all. The engine pulls like a train, no nasty noises or missing.
However, it seems to be pressurizing a little bit when its hot. Seemed to be a little more than normal? No bursts of heat when the bonnets opened though!
But then we went round and gave all the water pipes another tightening, (some of the jubilee clips weren't completely tight).
After that, we took it for a run, came back, took the cap off the coolant reservoir, and there was hardly any pressure, everything was normal. No mayo on the oil cap either.
Is this normal? Anyone explain it?
