basically im fitting a 7" flip up dvd monitor into the nova, but when ive fitted the custom made vent bit up, their is ALOT of stuff blocking its way...

basically what can i cut, chop, snap out the way, and also how do i remove the big black heater piping in the pic? is it a dash out jobbie?

i think if you take the old vents piece of and you should get to the air pipe and be able to chop it back and cap it.

any ideas on the big buldge of card on the left dude? been told its for the windscreen de-mister?

Yeah either that or re-route it with flexy ducting


Note: mine has also had the bulkhead hammered in :D

as long as you chop it back then seal it back up it should still demist the window.

the air duct, directs air to the front vents and the screen. Shame i don;t have a pic of my xe, as i dont have a dash, and just have that black duct directing air tot he screen to clear it. It'll mostlikely be a dash out job, but thats not too hard. not sure how you'd trim it, as you'd also want to block that duct up as it'll constantly blow cold air into your car ;)

Remove dials, cowling and vent section to gain access to that piece of ducting. It can be removed without taking the dash out, but there is a spar at the front which goes into the white housing round the heater controls - I can't remember if this needs to go up or down to remove.

I would be inclined to cut it as required and seal up with some duct tape. Thats how I did mine when I needed to lop a bit off for the cav dials.
