Conversion looks unfinished and untidy IMO. No air filter, and alot of stray wires in the bay. Never seen one of those engines in a Nova before though. But when all said and done very similar to the Vaux V6??

all that is left to do on the car is 2 rear wheel bearings and 2 cv boots,i have had 2 mot testers and a machanic look at the car and they have all said thats all it needs to pass an mot

Utter b/s.
If it was only that then he'd do it cause it will sell better with an mot.

theres a full wip on here somewhere of the car

the saab v6 is 95% identical to the c25xe, found in the calibra/cav. the inlet design is better and it makes more power iirc.
was on e-bay months back, never sold that time either.

would make a nice car with a little time imo.

Its a dog from what i've heard. Think the same guy converted my red Nova to a 2.0 8v before I bought it. Welded 1.2 shafts into big block CV's etc.

I remember this one, he kept boasting about how he was going to do the conversion in a week, argued a lot with people, then tried to sell it.... even though it was half finished

I think I recall him banging on about the difference between saab bits & cav bits & he seemed to have access to a lot of spares.

am i rite in thinking theres a saab turbo engine thats very similar to the let and can be transplanted into the nova with the f20 box? and is cheaper to get power out of?

Jack

Cheaper to get power out of, pass; but can be fitted with relative ease, yes. GM built a load of engines for saab, hence why they fit with minor fuss.

ive seen worse conversions tbh

as for saab turbo engines, im sure i read somewhere that there good for a realible 400-450 on standard internals

He's running a Saab Turbo engine and an Omega gearbox with custom mounts and prop. Its going to be an awesome car!

Was in last months total vauxhall, they say you can have 500bhp on STANDARD internals... Might on last a second tho :p

Think thats its 2nd or 3rd appearnce on ebay now!

I like the project, not the quality of the build but the idea of putting a v6 in and spraying it crap black.

Does look like a bit of a shed and as with all the dodgy motors on ebay they all say "needs minor work to be mint" so why not do it then!! lol lol lol

right, saab info.
1. the 2.3 will see 500bhp on stock internals.
2. the 2.0 will see 350bhp on stock internals
3 a stage 3 map on a 2.0 get ya 270bhp
4. a stage 3 on a 2.3 gets ya 290bhp.
5.stage 3 is a de cat, remap, and performance air filter.
6. the post 93 engine bolts to the gm tranny i.e f20
7.the ecu setup you need is trionic t5,
8. if you are fitting to a astra 3, cav3, or cally, remove the full subframe engine etc and just change the top mounts for the original ones.
9. to see 380bhp, a remap bosh greens, a 3 bar fuel reg, 4 bar map, and td04 18g will do.
10. the std t5 ecu is infinitely mappable, and the software is free.
11. donors are £100 up. the 900 is better as the lump is more compact.
12. the 2.0 is better for novas and corsas as its shorter. you still need to trim alot of metal from the chassis leg.
13. the wiring is easy like the xe or let, just the colours are different. there is 8 wires to connect.
14. the saab immobiliser system can be deactiated in the ecu, so no chip key is needed, but if ya run a std setup, you do need it till the ecu is unlocked.
read this. it gives a basic idea of parts for different power levels
